How to recover lost Google Analytics Login details

Sorry folks, if you have lost your Google Analytics login details you will only be able to recover it by talking to the Google Adwords suport team - and for that you will need to be a Google AdWords customer and a valid AdWords customer ID.

How to install Google Analytics on Blogger in under a minute...


Click on the [Sign Up Now] button



Login with the same email address and password you use for Blogger



If this is your first Google Analytics account click [Sign Up]


Fill out the General Information. The account name is just for your reference, so use anything



Enable Data Sharing (it might be useful later)



Agree to the TOS and click [Create Account]



Copy your Tracking ID. It should look like this: UA-12345678-1


Click the Settings for you blog


Scroll down the page to the Google Analytics Web Property ID section and paste in your tracking code


Click [Save Settings]

Google Analytics "Day of the Week" Report - Days 0-6

You can create a custom report in Google Analytics to analyse data by the day of the week. Here's how...

Choose the "Custom Report" tab



Add the metrics you would like to see (I've just added the number of Visitors)

Choose the "Day of week" dimension



The table report will look like this




The days of the week are shown as numbers (just to confuse you :-)
  • 0 = Sunday
  • 1 = Monday
  • 2 = Tuesday
  • 3 = Wednesday
  • 4 = Thursday
  • 5 = Friday
  • 6 = Saturday
You can also view the data in different chart by selecting a different view



For this report I prefer the comarison style, the site below is least popular on a Friday:

SOPA Searches Rose 1566% on Blackout Wednesday

According to the latest data from Google Insights. Searches for SOPA rose by more than 15X on Wednesday as many high profile sites "went dark" in protest.
